Course Description
Join us for 3 evenings exploring 18 different grape varieties from Albariño to Zweigelt, with some much less well-known varieties in between.
The most well-known grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot dominate the shelves of wine retailers and restaurant wine lists, but there are literally hundreds of other grape varieties including some real hidden gems that you may not be so familiar with.
During this course, we explore the Alphabet of Grapes from A to Z, sampling 18 different wines, 8 white and 10 red from 10 different countries.

- Albariño- White wine from Spain
- Barbera - Red wine from Italy
- Chenin Blanc - White wine from South Africa
- Dolcetto - Red wine from Italy
- Furmint - White wine from Hungary
- Garnacha (Grenache) - Red wine from Spain
Week 2 - Friday 1st August
- Hondarrabi Zuri - White wine from Spain
- Jacqueres - White wine from France
- Lambrusco - Red (sparkling) wine from Italy
- Marsanne - White wine from Australia
- Nebbiolo - Red wine from Italy
- Primitivo - Red wine from Italy
Week 3 - Friday 15th August
- Riesling - White wine from Germany
- Sagrantino - Red wine from Italy
- Touriga Nacional - Red wine from Portugal
- Verdejo - White wine from Spain
- Xinomavro - Red wine from Greece
- Zweigelt - Red wine from Austria
Have fun, expand your wine knowledge and sample some lovely wines.
As usual, ISO tasting glasses are provided along with tasting notes. Some suitable light snacks will help the wine down.
