Event Description
Once home to some of the most expensive and in-demand wines in the world, Germany's reputation took a dive at the end of the C20th. Now, however, as well as being the home of the world's finest Rieslings, the country is winning over a new army of fans of its vibrant whites and refined reds.
While white wine still predominates, it's not just Riesling that’s the star of the show. There's delicious Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris), Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) and even Sauvignon Blanc, and reds are gaining ground with superb Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) to be found.
In neighbouring Austria, Grüner Veltliner is the key white variety, while in Hungary, Blaufränkisch is a signature grape for peppery, mouth-watering reds.
Join us on a (re)discovery of Germany, Austria and Hungary when we’ll taste 6 wines to show why these countries should definitely be on your wine radar.
