Course Description
A highlight of our tasting calendar, our World of Wine course is the perfect way to learn about wine from all over the world. Over 8 weeks, you'll discover how wine is made and find out the world's most important wine producing countries and regions, grape varities and wine styles. You'll hone your tasting skills (don't worry, we'll teach you how to taste!) and soon be able to identify and assess the key structural components (sweetness, acidity, tannin, alcohol etc) of the wines you try.
You'll taste around 50 wines (with retail prices around £8-£30) that define the wine producing countries of the world, staring in Europe and then continuing to the Americas, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. We'll point out similarities and differences between wines, direct you to the best bargains and, for each wine, suggest food pairings and where to buy. You'll also learn how to store and serve your best bottles, wine faults to look out for and the latest wine trends to know about.
On your journey of discovery you'll meet plenty of fellow wine enthusuasts willing to share thoughts, travel tips and recommendations, and acquire a thorough knowledge of the wines of the world.
