Event Description
Nothing says Christmas induldgence more than an a delicious glass of Port. But do you know the difference between Ruby, Tawny, LBV and Vintage? Join us for an evening tasting through different styles while learning how Port is made, discovering the stunning World Heritage-designated Duoro wine region and finding out why so many Port producers (including Graham's, Taylor's, Cockburns and Croft) have British names.
Included in the line-up will be a rare chance to taste a beautifully mature, 20+ year old Port from the stunning 2003 vintage, direct from the East London Wine School cellars!
We'll also be tasting Portugal's 'other' fortified wine, from the Atlantic island of Madeira. Here the growing environment and unique winemaking practices produce wines with distinct character which, like Port, are perfect paired with festive fare. Again, we'll explain how they are made, explore differnet styles and find out what makes them a worthy addition to any wine list.
The perfect tasting to get you in the mood for Christmas!
