Event Description
Discover the wines of Southern Italy and the islands. The south of Italy is well known for good value wines such as Primitivo from Puglia. It is also home to some of Italy's most interesting indigenous varieties, some of which we will uncover.
This tasting will include a selection of the following:
- Fiano-Southern Italy's premier white
- Greco-Greek in origin but has found an excellent home here
- Vermentino-grown across Italy but it's preferred him is Sardinia
- Grillo-makes Marsala and more
- Aglianico-Southern Italy's answer to Nebbiolo
- Primitivo
- Gaglioppo-Head tutor Carrie's new favourite
- Nero d'Avola-Sicily's signature
- Etna Rosso-some of the only wines made from grapes grown on a volcano!
All tastings include: minimum of 6 wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, full tasting notes, tasting sheet, and use of professional tastings glasses.
