Event Description
Sauvignon Blanc is native to France and is the grape behind the famous white wines of Sancerre, Pouilly Fume, Touraine and white Bordeaux. Sauvignon Blanc wines are also made in wine regions as geographically diverse as New Zealand, California, Chile, South Africa and Australia.
The best Sauvignon Blanc wines have an aromatic quality and an intensity. It's all about balance. Wine drinkers are quite rightly very much in love with Sauvignon Blanc. It is a versatile grape capable of greatness and able to give a lot of pleasure.
Malbec is native to France too and is found in the Loire valley, Bordeaux and its spiritual home of Cahors. Today we also associate the grape with the high altitude red wines of Argentina.
The best Malbec wines share a complex range of aromas from blueberry and violet to plums, an intensity or flavour and earthy undertones.
Come and find out more about these two fascinating grape varieties as we taste three Sauvignon Blanc wines and three Malbec wines from around the world.
This relaxed evening tasting includes six wines, a digital presentation, tasting notes and some cheese and crackers.
