Event Description
Bordeaux is the most important fine wine region in France with a long standing reputation for the excellence of its red and sweet wines.
With 45 AOC regions within Bordeaux there is a lot to get to grips with. Several of the village or commune regions are world famous in their own right.
Although in general terms the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc reds have aromas of under ripe fruits and cedar and tobacco notes as they age, there is a lot of variation and nuance too. Quality ranges form everyday clarets to complex and elegant long lasting wines.
We have put together a great tasting for you to help you really get to grips with the red wine styles from both sides of Bordeaux
The tasting will explore wines and wines styles from classic left and right bank appellations, what to expect from Bordeaux reds, vintage variation food pairing tips and an update on Bordeaux today and the challenges and opportunities the region faces.
There will be six different wines to taste chosen from the following appellations:
Left Bank
- Haut- Medoc
- Pauillac
- Saint-Julien
- Margaux
- Pessac-Leognan
