On a family holiday in France, when Sylvie was eighteen years old, she was given a glass of brandy that had been laid down by Napoleon. It was precisely that moment that jump started her love of wine. She has lived in California, Spain and Italy as a musician where, time after time, she witnessed the metamorphosis of wine into song when it passes through the human body. This lead her to believe that wine is simply bottled songs. She has worked in New Orleans as a wine waiter at Carrollton Market, and as a tour guide/food and wine pairing teacher at Bluebell Vineyard and Bolney Vineyard in Sussex. Every year she participates in hand-harvesting anywhere that will have her. She likes off-the-beaten path, family-run and small producers. She has WSET level 2 and 3, and also passed IWS, SWS and FWS (Wine Scholar Guild) - all three with highest honours.
