Course Description
On this new three week wine course we'll meander (pardon the pun) our way along three important waterways in Europe.
The river Rhine starts in Switzerland before winding its way northwards between Alsace and Baden in southern Germany and then moves on towards the Baltic Sea past important German wine regions of Rheingau, Rheinhessen and Nahe.
The Duero / Douro is the Iberian penisula's longest river. It passes through the Spanish wine regions of Ribera del Duero, Rueda and Toro before changing name in Portugal as it moves through the Duoro Valley wine region on its way to the Atlantic ocean.
Our final stop is a little more creative. The Canal des Deux Mers in France is the name given to the combination of the Canal du Midi and the Canal de Garonne. The Canal du Midi starts south of Sete in the Languedoc (Picpoul de Pinet) and moves inland past Corbieres, Minervois and Cabardes. At Toulouse the Canal de Garonne takes over and pushes horth west through wine regions including Fronton and Buzet before ending at Castets-en-Dorthe near Bordeaux.
You can sign up for all three evening 'rivers' tastings by joining this course and save £10.
