 Wines from Northern Europe have suffered a pretty bad rep. First there was the so-called 'anti-freeze scandal' which hit Austria in the '80s. The Germans are still battling the legacy of Hock and Blue Nun from the '70s. And English wine? Some might say, the less said, the better!! But all these stereotypes are badly out of date, England, Germany and Austria are producing some of the finest and best value for money whites around. Sexier than Sancerre, and better value than Burgundy, lovers of white wines from the cooler climes need to come and have a taste!
