Event Description
Our World of Wine Series reaches its finale as we toast the end of our journey. Fizz and Sweeties often feature at the start and the end of a great meal. They are drinks we reach for in times of celebration, marking a special occasion, so lets enjoy!
Britain has a pretty special relationship with both fizz and sweeties. It was the English who first developed a taste for the refermented wine from Champagne which the French regarded as faulty. And at around the same time, it was British shippers who encouraged the Portugese to add spirit to their wine to stabilise it before shipping it to Bristol or Liverpool.
Tonight we will look at all manner of sweet and sparkling wines. Learning how different methods of production are responsible for very different styles of wine. From frothy fruity fizz like Moscato and Prosecco, to more complex and savoury Premier Cru Champagne. Sticky and unctuous Sauternes head to head with the autumnal fruits of Port. A decadent and thoroughly tasty evening awaits...
Our World of Wine series is available to book as a selection of single evenings or save yourself some £££ and book the whole 8-part course in one go. Each evening will introduce you to another part of the fascinating world of wine. Ideal for anyone fostering a growing interest in this fascinating subject.
