Friday 8th May is Georgia's National Wine Day, so why not join us for a run down of 8,000 years worth of winemaking expertise!? With their fascinating native grapes, and extraordinary winemaking techniques, it's time to discover Georgia's secrets!
What can you expect to taste?
- supermarket examples of Georgian wines (many of these are both delicious and affordable!)
- Amber Wine (Georgia is the home of skin contact/orange wine)
- Qvevri Wine (the use of clay amphorae is thought to have originated in Georgia)
- Saperavi Wine (this grape variety is widely viewed as Georgia's finest, a must-try for lovers of big reds)
We'll cover many native grapes and take a look at the key wine producing areas. We are sure after you've tasted some of the incredible wines of Georgia you'll be wanting a follow up tasting to keep exploring!
