Event Description
England has played a major role throughout wine history as a nation of wine-drinkers and wine-appreciators (so you are in a noble tradition!). But now it is being increasingly recognised as a producer of top-class wines. English Wine Week gives the perfect opportunity to sample some of the wines that are being produced in this country.
English sparkling wine is now widely recognised as being potentially equal to the best in the world, so we'll start with not 1 but 2 examples of these top-quality fizzy wines to get the evening started.
Then we'll move on to still white wines - these are getting better every year. It might be a smooth Chardonnay, or an aromatic Bacchus that can challenge Sauvignon Blanc for sheer drinkability.
Finally, we'll sample at least 1 red wine, showcasing the freshness and purity of fruit that English reds are increasingly delivering.
The perfect showcase for England's new role as a nation of winemakers!
