Champagne Charlie Masterclass

You asked for it and we've delivered! A very special Champagne Masterclass featuring Laura's favourite Grand Marque: Charles Heidsieck! Known in New York as a bit of a cad, the nickname Champagne Charlie was created just for him! ial 

Laura will be presenting the core range of Brut, Rosé, Blanc de Blanc and Vintage. Plus, as a special treat you'll get to compare some older vintages too! Wait til you try the very special older Rosé Vintage 2005. Absolutely stunning. For those not already in the know, he is a little more about Charles Heidsieck:

• The smallest Grand Marque, this maison was founded in 1851
• At the age of only 29, Charles Camille Heidsieck was the founder, he came from a prominent Champagne family based in Reims
• He was a nephew of Florens-Louis Heidsieck who had previously founded Heidsieck & Co
• Charles was one of the first in Reims to purchase former Roman quarries to age his wines in
• Today all Charles Heidsieck wines are aged at least 5 years in these Crayeres
• Champagne Charlie was a frequent visitor to the USA- he is credited with introducing Champagne to the American market
• Although it all almost ended badly after he was arrested in New Orleans and acused of being a spy
• President Lincoln himself has to intervene to get him released!
