Cabernet Franc has its origins in the Basque country and is widelu gorwn in Bordeaux, South West France and the Loire Valley.
World class Cabernet Franc wines is also made in places as diverse as Argentina, Tuscany, South Africa, Canada's Niagara Peninsula and Okanagan Valley, California and Hawkes Bay in New Zealand.
The best Cabernet Franc wines have a elegant complexity to them, often as a result of winemaking techniques like natural ferments and barrel maturation. They also reflect their specific growing sites well. It's all about balance. Aromas and flvours range from cranberry, mulberry, violet, herb, pencial shavings and cocoa to forest floor and earthy notes for mature wines.
