In 1976 Stephen Spurrier put together a now famous tasting competition where leading wine experts blind tasted and scored highly regarded red wines from Bordeaux and white wines from Burgundy toegther with Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay wines from California. The Californian wines took the top spots and the world woke up to the wines the California has to offer. The rest is history ...
At this evening wine tasting we'll take a look at a range of classic style from the West Coast of the USA from Pinot Noir and Riesling from Oregon and Washington to Cabernet, Zinfandel, Chardonnay and Rhone blends from California's North Coast and Central Coast regions.
You'll be introduced to some history and information about grapes, wine styles and producers as we taste our way around the America's west coast.
