Event Description
World of Wine - A Travellers Wine Guide to the South of France
Discover the wine treasures of Provence.
As you travel south through France you gradually notice the slate roof tiles turn terracotta, olive oil replaces butter and the sunlight takes on a quality rarely experienced in the grim grey north. And at last you are in Provence. Bathed in sunshine on the shores of the Mediterranean. Provence land of lavender, sunflowers and vines.
The best wines in Provence are not pink. There I’ve said it. Rosé may account for the vast quantity of Provençal wines but the quality lies in the whites and reds that rarely leave the Riviera.
I am fortunate that my job involves visiting some of the most fascinating wine regions in the world.
In this evening I share some of the wine and food the culture from my travels to Provence.
