Unspoiled Murcia nestles in Spain’s south-eastern corner. This is a land of citrus orchards, olive groves and vineyards tucked between mountains and hill top villages. Renowned for its exceptional Monastrell, the region offers an enchanting blend of award-winning wines and traditional gastronomy in the unspoiled Spanish countryside.
Your home for the 4 day visit will be the historic town of Caravaca de la Cruz. An easy 90 minute transfer from Alicante airport.
This wine mini-break features;
Tours and tastings at small, family owned bodegas, showcasing old vines and sustainable farming methods.
A morning visit to the Bullas Wine Museum to learn a little of the history of wine making in the region.
A full day in the Roman port city of Cartagena where you can explore its rich history and enjoy the local speciality, Asiático coffee.
Enjoy a beautiful natural landscape and the region’s traditional cuisine. Gastronomy, showcasing local ingredients and traditional recipes, plays an integral role in all of our wine experiences. On this trip we will delight your palate with the authentic flavours of Murcia, including its famous rice dishes.
This is an exclusive trip for Local Wine School customers with the number of participants limited to around 16.
The cost of the trip is £1,050.00 excluding flights and includes transfers to and from Alicante airport, bed and breakfast accommodation, bodega and museum visits and meals and wine as per the itinerary.
