Since the 1800’s there has been a rich tradition of trading casks in the Scottish Whisky Industry. This has led to a thriving culture of independent companies successfully producing bottles under their own labels, usually from a single cask, and usually at cask strength, and often championed by enthusiasts as “more interesting” than standard distillery bottlings.
