Gourmet Wine Dinner

Our Gourmet Wine Evening at beautiful Jesmond Dene House Hotel with celebrity wine expert Joe Wadsack is now an annual fixture in the Newcastle Wine School calendar.

Joe “The Whirlwind of Wine” Wadsack is best known for his TV career which includes; Great Wine Walks with Kitty Johnson, Ladette to Lady, Richard and Judy, Saturday Kitchen and as co-host of BBC’s Food and Drink.

Joe’s varied CV also includes RAF Pilot, wine maker in Bordeaux, supermarket wine buyer, Sunday Express wine columnist, consultant and wine judge. But more than anything Joe is a passionate cook, brilliant taster and entertaining host.

Over the course of the evening Joe will guide us through a tasting of boutique wines each expertly matched with a special 5 course menu of light, fresh and flavoursome Modern British dishes prepared by Jesmond Dene’s Head Chef, Masterchef the Professionals finalist, Danny Parker and his dedicated team.

Crispy Ham Hock paired with Hambledon Classic Cuvée Rosé Brut, Curried Parsnip Soup paired with Fino Tres Palmas 2014, Potted Salmon paired with Fetele Feteasca Regala 2021, Romania, Chicken, Mushroom, Cavalo Nero paired with Martin Pasler Organic Zweigelt 2018, Austria and Apple Crumble, Vanilla Ice Cream paired with Bacalhoa, Moscatel de Setúbal 2018, Portugal. 

The evening is ideal for corporate entertaining or for individuals who love fine wine and good food and who would like to learn more from one of the Country’s most exuberant wine experts.
