Event Description
Gin may have a very long history but recently the Gin scene has really taken off. There are now micro-distilleries, including several locally, producing small batch artisanal Gins to compete with established favourites. So if you’ve ever wondered what is the difference between the various styles and why, this is the tasting for you!
During the evening you will sample several different styles of Gin, learn how Genever as it was once called came to be Gin as we know it today, discover the different production methods including what defines a London Gin and explore with practical examples how the various botanical flavourings affect the overall style. We will also be able to try different mixers to see what affect they have on taste.
Our line-up of quality gins will include; well-known favourites, London Gin, International Gin and award winning small batch specialities from local distilleries.
The price for the Gin workshop includes at least six Gins, with garnishes and tonics in a tutored tasting with accompanying nibbles and tasting notes to take away.
Come along and learn more about this fashionable spirit with a long history in a fun, informal and relaxed evening!
