Could Essex be Britain’s answer to Burgundy? It has recently been descibed as the British Cote D'Or.
The story of England’s success with sparkling wine is already well told, but this is only the first chapter for its still wines. It is the driest part of England with long hours of sunshine it scores highly for growing degree days (a measure of temperature conditions conducive to grape growing).
At this tasting we will be sampling some of the delicious wines produced in the county. From the amazing Crouch valley to wines from the north and east of the county we will find out why it is these wines are so good!
