Event Description
South African wine has never been so exciting! With huge expansion since 1990 and the fall of KWV's monopoly on the wine industry, there has been tremendous innovation and a plethora of new and exciting wine farms and wines. We'll dabble into the Platter Guide, the bible on the best wines from South Africa, and discover wines from the delicious Chenin Blanc (both oaked and unoaked), stunning Pinot Noir from Walker Bay, vibrant and distinctive Pinotage and also Bordeaux/Rhone style blends.
In addition we'll also look at some of the newer wine-producing countries such as Japan, India and China and discover their emerging importance in the world of wine.
All tastings include: minimum of 6 wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them; full tasting notes; tasting sheet; use of professional tastings glasses; a small selection of delicious cheese and charcuterie (with crackers) is served at this tasting.
We try to accommodate all dietary requirements, providing we are notified at least 48hrs in advance.
