Event Description
After the famous 'Judgement of Paris' tasting in 1976 where the creme de la creme of France was pitched against the risers and shakers of California, the world took note of this now famous wine region as it took top spot. Almost forty years on, some of the New World's finest wines are now found here. In Napa there is a concentration of powerful and complex Cabernet Sauvignon, with excellent Chardonnay found in most coastal zones, fruit-driven and spicy Zinfandel found in Sonoma & Lodi and up-and-coming Rhone-style blends (Grenache/Syrah) found in Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo. These certainly are finely crafted wines that we shall tuck into with gusto.
We'll also taste an elegant Pinot Noir from Canada who are elevating their reputation as a great wine nation, and for a bit of fun we'll also travel to the East Coast where we'll taste a fantastic wine from Virginia.
All tastings include: minimum of 6 wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them; full tasting notes; tasting sheet; use of professional tastings glasses; a small selection of delicious cheese and charcuterie (with crackers) is served at this tasting.
We try to accommodate all dietary requirements, providing we are notified at least 48hrs in advance.
