ONLINE: Lipari, Italy's Hidden Island Gem with Tenuta di Castellaro

The wines of Sicily have been causing waves for many years with their distinctive character and vastly improved quality. Lesser known, but equally as good are the wonderful volcanic wines of the Aeolian Islands, just off Sicily's North Eastern coast. In this fascinating tasting we'll be focusing on the island of Lipari with top producer Tenuta di Castellaro. These are wines that are well off the beaten track but should most certainly be on your radar.

Lipari is the largest of the Aeolian island chain and has been producing wines since the time of classical antiquity - in more recent times producers have been expanding the styles of wines available from this beautiful island. Founded by Massimo Lentsch and Stefania Frattolillo back in 2005, Tenuta di Castellaro is one of Italy's most exciting producers and, with winemaker Emiliano Falsini, they have one of Italy's great talents. 

We'll be expertly guided through their range with the domaine's Daniele Sassi, including the island's winemaking history, distinctive grapes (such as Malvasia delle Lipari and Corinto Neroa) plus a first taste of their new Eúxenos bottling!

This will be an eye opening tasting of some truly beautiful wines, from an equally beautiful island.
