Event Description
Our Italian tour continues as we discover the production heartland of Italy, Veneto with nearby regions such as Friuli Venezia Giulia and Marche. Veneto houses the Corvina grape variety which is the backbone powerhouse grape behind Bardolino, Valpolicella (Ripasso) and Amarone della Valpolicella and white wine production is dominated by Soave with increasing amounts of Pinot Grigio found here as well as a sizeable fizz production in the way of Prosecco. The region of Friuli is extremely exciting with the variety Friuliano carving out a reputation for high quality white whilst the region on Marche on the east coast has a consistent production of decent white, most notably Verdicchio.
This tasting is designed to explore the diverse variety of wines available from Italy produced from their fascinating indigenous grape varieties most of which are only found within Italy.
Big wine to look forward to: Amarone DOCG
