Event Description
Join us for a topically interesting tasting comparing the classic Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc from the Loire such as Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé and Vouvray against the New World countries offering many versatile alternatives such as Marlborough from New Zealand and South Africa. We'll also look at Fumé Blanc (Sauvignon Blanc) from California and what Chile brings to the table.
In addition we'll look at the unusual Cabernet Franc variety, at home in the Loire Valley making light, juicy and earthy wines - but does the New World do Franc better than the French?
All tastings include: minimum of 6 wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, full tasting notes, tasting sheet, use of professional tastings glasses and nibbles.
Has the success of New World whites surpassed the Loire classics? And if it has, is it warranted? Book now to enjoy this wonderful tasting...
We try to accommodate all dietary requirements, providing we are notified at least 48hrs in advance. Please note gates will open 30 minutes before the start of the class.
