Event Description
The final in our 3 part Under the Grape Skin tasting series sees us tackle two grape varieties where the grape skin itself really comes into play.
Pinot Noir and Gamay are both thin-skinned grapes, so reveal a lot about their terroir and winemaking, the nuances that come “under the skin” are often subtle but distinctive, better known as Terroir , the French for “a sense of place”
In this tasting we will explore Pinot Noir wines from New Zealand, UK, USA and France including the chance to taste a Premiere Cru Burgundy as well as comparing them alongside Gamay wines not only from Beaujolais in France but also another New World example.
This tasting is part of our Under the Grape Skin series—designed to take wine lovers beneath the surface, exploring the varietals, terroir, winemaking techniques, and flavor profiles that define each wine.
Whether you're a budding enthusiast or a seasoned collector, this three tasting series will allow you to get a better understanding and appreciation of some of the best known varieties.
