Event Description
Georgia boasts an array of indigenous grape varieties, each contributing to the nation's diverse and dynamic winemaking scene. From the bold and robust Saperavi to the aromatic and crisp Rkatsiteli, this tasting will cover the full spectrum of Georgian flavours.
We will feature wines made in Qvevri – an ancient clay vessel that is buried underground. Having initially moved away from this traditional technique, modern Georgian winemakers are now reviving it for both red and white wines. These large vessels are used for the fermentation, storage and ageing of traditional Georgian wines and impart a very distinct character. So unique are the flavours and textures that winemakers all over the world are beginning to experiment with this technique.
All tastings are accompanied by a small plate of cheese and charcuterie
