Event Description
Join us as we dive into perhaps the most important wine country in the world, France. This is a tasting that really gets to grips with the red wine styles found in this iconic country.
The UK's love affair with French wine is one that boasts quality and quantity. Through conquest and trade Britain has developed a passion for French reds, from Bordeaux (what the British call Claret), Burgundy, through Beaujolais, down the Rhône and beyond. With high volumes of French quality wine making its way onto our shores there has never been a more important time to understand a French wine label - especially when they are not easy to decipher to the untrained eye.
Expect to taste wines from classic red-wine producing regions of Bordeaux, Burgundy and Rhone. We will also be trying some other red wines that are sometimes less shouted about internationally, but are some of the best reds you can find in France even when compared to those from the 'known' red wine-producing regions.
This class will help you choose your French red with greater confidence as it is specially designed to teach you the hints and tips of the regions and what's behind the label.
