Event Description
Join us for “What Is Different About Natural Wine?”, an informal and eye-opening tasting that explores one of the most talked-about movements in the wine world today.
During the evening, we’ll taste a series of wines presented in pairs — a natural wine alongside a more traditionally made example — allowing you to experience the differences side by side. From farming methods and fermentation to flavour, texture and aroma, we’ll uncover what really sets natural wine apart and why it has captured the attention of winemakers and drinkers around the world.
Along the way, you’ll enjoy delicious nibbles from Norwich Market, perfectly suited to the wines being poured, creating a relaxed and sociable tasting experience in the heart of the city.
What are the wines?
- Upon arrival you will be offered a glass of Traditional Method Sparkling Wine from near Lisbon in Portugal.
- We will then present our first pairing of Cabernet Franc Pet Nat vs Flint Vineyard's Charmat Rosé.
- Then it's the battle of the New Zealand Sauvignons with 'The Supernatural (un) Sauvignon Blanc' vs Toby's Villa Maria ‘ Earth Garden’ Sauvignon 2024.
- Next up is White vs Orange with Smallfry’s iconic orange field blend, The Tangerine Dream vs Jim Barry’s Assyrtiko 2022 from Clare Valley.
- And to finish, a showdown on the reds to try and win the final vote of the night. In the Substrata corner it's the Smallfry, Jellyfish Grenache and from it’s Forage Supply Co ‘The Breaker’ Barossa Valley Shiraz-Grenache 2024.
What Food is on Offer?
Handily situated close to the city's historic Norwich Market - a selection of sourdough, olive oil, toasted nuts and cheeses will accompany the wines on the night.
