Event Description
Bordeaux is the most famous wine region in the world. Why? We’ll see if we can answer that question in this session. There’ll be reds based on the region’s two main grapes, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and there’ll also be a couple of whites featuring Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc, one dry and elegant, the other succulent, sweet and affect by that benevolent fungus called noble rot.
There’s a wonderful diversity of wine styles found along the length of France’s longest river, the Loire, and we’ll do our best to include a reasonable overview of what’s available from the Atlantic coast, home of Muscadet through vineyards where Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc dominate to the place that defined Sauvignon Blanc before New Zealand appeared on the scene.
