Event Description
Burgundy is where Pinot Noir and Chardonnay made their names, and where for many people they still perform at their best. We won’t be sampling £1,000+ Grands Crus, but we’ll see if we can find some great examples that hint at just why the top wines command such stratospheric prices. And for we’ll also include something from the south of the region, where the Gamay grapes is the force behind the oh-so-drinkable wines of Beaujolais.
As for Alsace, the success of our masterclasses over the past few years show that this wonderful region is no longer a secret known only to those in the wine trade. Source of some of the greatest unoaked white wines in the world, it’s offers what one of the locals described as French style with German efficiency. We’ll sample Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer
