Event Description
A unique FIRST in the UK for wine consumers.... Kent Wine School, with Westbury Communications Ltd, assisting the Bulgarian Wine Export Association led by the Baltic Gastronomy Leaders, collaborate to enable you to....
...discover the diversity of Bulgarian wine and the utterly unique and delicious wines we rarely see from the Thracian Lowlands PGI!
The Thracians are an ethno-cultural community who settled on the Balkan Peninsula - the lands of present-day Bulgaria and parts of Greece, Serbia, Northern Macedonia and European Turkey – 6000 years ago. The Thracians worshiped Dionysus - the god of grapes and wine. Wine became symbolic of the rebirth and immortality of the human soul, in which the ancient Thracians unconditionally believed. These beliefs inspired the Thracians and are the root of modern day wine estates and their heritage.
We will be showcasing iconic wines that are true representation of how their history has shaped its wine production today. We’ll also make sure to include plenty of Bulgarian culture, food & wine pairings unique to the country
So, expand your palate with indigenous varieties such as Mavrud, Rubin, Vrachanski Misket and Tamyanka. And, taste Bulgaria’s take on the grapes we are more familiar with ... such as Chardonnay, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Sangiovese. This is a really unique chance to taste so incredible wines, some for the first time in the UK.
