A wonderful culinary evening showcasing mouth-watering steaks from different cuisines around the globe, paired with six superb wines from classic wine regions. A fabulous feast for food and wine lovers!
Journey with us to France where we discover which wines are best to accompany a classically prepared, succulent sirloin steak. Then on to Italy where you can try a zesty gremolata (a herb, garlic and lemon zest rub), the perfect accompaniment to a flavourful beef rib eye. Finally we go over to the Far East as we sample the strongly spiced steak dishes of Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisines - marrying the exotic notes of ginger, coriander and lime together to make a vibrant South East Asian beef salad. Discover for yourself how versatile the humble steak can be, and how the right wine choice is crucial.
Accompanying the taster samples of steak will be 6 delicious wines to compliment your food, all especially chosen by your Kent Wine School host Victoria. Learn how to match different wines for yourself as we talk about the role of tannin, fruit and aroma in helping you choose your perfect wine for your own steak dishes. Taste elegant Bordeaux red wine with sirloin steak, full-bodied, acidic Chianti Classico with rib eye steak, delicately chocolaty Carmenere with spicy Asian beef dishes and many more. By the end of the evening you will feel able to prepare these delicious meals yourself at home and impress your friends with your ability to match food and wine.
