Event Description
Join us for an immersive weekend French wine experience and fast-track your understanding of the world of French wine with Wine Scholar Guild's French Wine Essentials course.
France is home to over 400 wine appellations. French Wine Essentials (FWE) introduces you to the most important regions and wine styles. Each wine is presented within a regional and cultural context while landmarks and traditional cuisine are highlighted to complete the curriculum.
The comprehensive course structure includes a 100+ page study manual, access to interactive e-learning and support from expert educators to guide you through an inspiring adventure across France.
More than just an introductory course, this French wine course is a prelude to a lifelong romance with the wines of France, a launchpad to the internationally revered French Wine Scholar® Certification Program, vibrant Wine Scholar Guild (WSG) Member Community and the first step towards wine mastery!
The French Wine Essentials course starts with a Friday evening get together with wine and nibbles and continues over Saturday and Sunday.

Fri 10th October 2025 7pm-9pm:Informal get together with wine and nibbles
Introduction to French Wine; Sparkling Wines - Champagne AOC & Cremant.
Sat 11th October 2025 10.30am-3.30pm with one hour lunch break:
Morning - Northern France: Alsace & Loire Valley
Sun 12th October 2025 10.30am-3.30pm with one hour lunch break:
Morning - Southern France: Rhône Valley, Provence, Languedoc-Roussillon
