This beginner-to-intermediate level course provides a structured exploration of the world of wine and includes access to Wine With Jimmy online learning support.
The WSET Level 2 in Wines Award is a beginner-to-intermediate level course providing a structured exploration of the world of wine and is suitable both for wine industry professionals and wine enthusiasts.
All our course tutors are qualified to deliver courses on behalf of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
What the course covers:
- How to taste and describe wines using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT)
- The principles of food and wine pairing
- Learn the correct way to store and serve wine and how to recognise common faults found in wine
- How to decode and understand wine labels
- How environmental factors, grape-growing, vineyard and maturation options influence the style and quality of the wines in different parts of the world
- Learn about wine styles produced by key international red and white varieties (Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Syrah/Shiraz) as well as those made from 22 regionally important grape varieties grown in 70 wine regions
- How grape varieties and winemaking processes influence the style of wines in these two key wine categories

Course Dates
The course is runs over 3 Sundays on the following dates:
Sunday 28th February
Sunday 7th March
Sunday 14th March
Additionally, 12 hours of private study is recommended for this course.
Examiniation
A 1 hour 50 question multiple choice exam will be held on the last day of the course. Please bring a photo ID with you on the final day of the course (this is a requirement for sitting the exam). A passport or driving licence is best.

How do I access the WWJ earning support?
Book your WSET Level 2 or Level 3 wine course and you'll be sent your activation code on the 1st day of your course. Simply redeem your code on the Wine With Jimmy website to activate your learning support package.
How long will I have access to the Wine With Jimmy support platform for?
Your access lasts for 12 months from the date you redeem/activate your code. Please bear in mind if you activate your code and then delay your classroom course for any reason or your exam is delayed, your access is still only valid for one year from the day you redeem/activate your code.
What does the Wine With Jimmy package include?
The platform provides complementary support to your classroom learning and is designed to help you build knowledge, reinforce key concepts, and support your revision and exam preparation using multi-media learning tools and revision strategies. Alongside our expert-led, in-person teaching, it gives you flexible, on-demand support to guide your learning every step of the way. Do I still need to attend the classroom course?
Yes; the online learning support is designed to complement your in-person teaching, not replace it. Your classroom sessions remain the core of the course, with the online materials providing additional support alongside your studies.
