Come and enjoy a selected menu of dishes, paired to perfection with 5 wines!

South-Indian restaurant CHENNAI LOUNGE, located off Oxford Street on The Terminus, provides an unparalleled dining experience that showcases the vibrant flavours and cuisines of South India.

Our selected menu of 5 small plates is carefully crafted with the finest quality ingredients, ensuring each dish is a masterpiece. 

Five wines have been chosen especially for the occasion by Cecile Bergart, Sommelier at the Hampshire Wine School, to be paired to perfection to this Indian menu which incorporates truly authentic South-Indian flavours. 

This is the perfect relaxed environment to learn how to match spices and wine!  Learn the theory behind wine and food pairing, and then put the theory into practice by eating and drinking, and being merry!

Here's the tasting menu for this mouth-watering dining experience:

  • Salt & pepper mushrooms: enjoy a scrumptious stir-fry of fresh mushrooms, expertly seasoned with just the right amount of salt and pepper to tantalise your tastebuds. Served with an off-dry Vouvray.
  • Chicken majestic: delicious chicken strips marinated in a creamy yogurt sauce, perfectly crisp-fried, and elegantly sauteed with fiery chilli peppers for a delightful kick. Served with a Gewurztraminer from Chile.
  • Nilgiris kingfish: tender fish pieces in a vibrant sauce of coriander, mint and coconut, offeering a delicious balance of flavours inspired by the lush Nilgiris. Served with a Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire.
  • Lamb mumtaz: delight in succulent lamb back chops, simmered to perfection in a luxurious cashew nut, star anise, cardammon and yogurt sauce. Served with a Cotes-du-Rhone Grenache/Syrah.
  • Chocolate pani poori: treat yourself to a traditional sweet pudding with a modern twist, accompanied by a sweet milk sauce, infused with aromatic spices and cardammon in particular for a truly comforting Indian dessert. Served with a Black Muscat sweet wine.
