Event Description
It’s Spain’s most famous wine producing region and remains a big favourite with wine drinkers worldwide.
Tonight is a chance to learn about it in more detail. What is its history ? What makes the wines so appealing ?
We will look at its grape varieties ,wine making traditions; its landscapes and growing conditions and see how they combine to give us the Rioja wines we know and love
It is of course most famous for its red wines but whites are produced too, so our tutored tasting will consist of 6 wines demonstrating the styles to be found there, all illustrating different wine making practices and labelling terms
The tasting will be hosted by Mike Cottam and will be illustrated with images and tales from his visits to the vineyards of Rioja.
