Event Description
We'll taste wines from some of the classic regions.
Bordeaux has for centuries been a global byword for premium quality wine. It brings to mind the villages of Margaux, St Julien, and St Emilion and their robust, complex reds which evolve over decades in the bottle.
It's also one of the most complex and confusing regions. We will unwrap the mysteries which shroud these wines: is it the climate that makes these wines so special? The wine-making practices? Or, the grapes themselves?
The Rhone Valley has been wowing people with deep, smoky Syrah (the original name for Shiraz) long before the Australians discovered it!
The Loire Valley is often referred to as the 'garden of France' thanks to its lush, verdant countryside where it produces some of the most delicious Sauvignon Blanc in the world. Alongside a plethora of other grapes.
Burgundy, is home to wines that have captured many a wine lover's heart: Chablis, Meursault, Gevrey-Chambertin, a veritable line-up of wine royalty! We'll show you exactly what it is that makes these wines so special and how to pick up a bargain or two.
(Note, this evening is part of our core 6-week course - book all 6 evenings and save £25! It's flexible, so if you have to skip an evening you can pick it up the next time it runs).
This evening is suitable for all levels of wine knowledge!
The event will include a tasting of six carefully selected wines, wine notes & handouts, and a 2-hour interactive presentation, with Q&A, led by our wine tutor
