Cheese is often considered the perfect partner to wine. This episode of our cheese and wine series will focus on the wines and cheeses of Italy.
Italian Wine is known to be extremely 'food friendly' with light bodied, fruity white wines to cut through rich creamy cheeses and reds with the tannin and structure to match up to a cheese with rich, full flavour.
Italy has a rich food and wine tradition yet beyond the classic Mozarella and Parmigiano, many of their cheeses are not as well-known as their French counterparts.
This evening will take us on a journey through classic cheese producing regions such as 'Emilia-Romagna and Campania. Along the way I will be selecting wines that perfectly match the characteristics of the cheese.
You'll learn the principles of cheese and wine pairing so you can get it right first time when you do it at home.
Biscuits for cheese are included as well as details of where to source the wines locally if you want to get your hands on pairings you enjoy the most
