Event Description
Sample wines from a Slovenian producer noted in Jancis Robinson's 'Wine Grapes' as highly recommended for wines from two rare varieties - Pinela and Zelen.
Pinela is a white wine also made in small quantities in Italy, but Zelen is a white wine unique to Slovenia. The Zelen grape nearly disappeared in the 20th Century until a group of Slovenian producers banded together to rescue it.
We'll be talking to Martin Gruzovin from Guerila wines in the Slovenian Littoral (Vipasa Valley), described as an area of 'heroic viticulture'. Guerila is a sustainable wine producer there.
HOW IT WORKS
You buy the wines separately and need only consume a tasting sample of each wine during the tutorial. You can follow our preservation tips to keep any leftovers for another day.
