Event Description
Gin is on a roll in the UK at the moment with new micro-distilleries opening up seemingly every month in the UK.
We are without doubt in a Gin Renaissance and there are plenty of small independent gin makers really hitting the mark with their own inimitable styles.
Find out everything you need to know about gin at this fascinating two-hour tasting.
We generally like to allow local distilleries to influence our selection so you can be sure you will get a taste of Cambridge and the surrounding area at this tasting.
During the session, we'll taste six premium gins and the aim is for you to sample the wide flavour spectrum that gin has to offer. We'll explore each individual gin in its neat form before opening up the flavours further with Fevertree tonic mixers.
Our lineup is likely to include (among others):
- Cambridge Gin - awarded most innovative distillery in the world
- Roundwood Gin - delicious gin made by dedicated husband and wife team using botanicals drawn from a protected forest estate near Huntingdon
- Adnams Copper House or First Rate Gin - influential East Anglian brewer and distiller making award-winning gins
- Edinburgh Gin - Scotland is ideally placed to produce gin, with expert distilleries that have long experience making spirits of a different kind!
- Cotswolds Gin - a wine school favourite with well-chosen botanicals
- Warner's Rhubarb gin - not so much a liqueur as a proper gin made from pure ingredients with a great story (Queen Victoria's rhubarb)
Includes your very own DIY fruit plate to garnish each gin.
This tasting is great for gin lovers and anyone who wants to find out more about gin. No previous knowledge is required for any of our events.
All our tastings include tasting notes, a fully tutored tasting and the use of professional tasting glasses.
