Event Description
Italy has many exciting wines to choose from. Join us for a tour of Italian regions and wines and learn the principles for pairing wine with different foods.
Some of the best Italian wines come from the big three regions – Tuscany, Piedmont and Veneto where famous wines such as Barolo, Amarone and Chianti are produced. In recent decades there has also been big improvements in quality with wines from Campania, Basilicata, Puglia and Sicily now giving us even more to explore.
We will tour through Italy sampling its lovely wines as we go. And we'll also make it easier to understand the principles of food and wine pairing - cracking the wine pairing code!
By the end of the evening you will have learned:
- common grape varieties
- how to understand Italian wine labels
- pairing Italian wines with food
- 7 helpful principles for general food and wine pairing
Our evening tastings include a minimum of 6 wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, full tasting notes, use of professional tasting glasses and a focus on food pairing.
This event is part of our 6-part World of Wine course!
