Event Description
Cheese is an integral part of the cuisine in Italy and is of course included in cooking many popular Italian dishes.
There are a wide range of cheese styles made in Itay, many having developed alongside local wine culture so that the cheese and wine go together.
At this evening's tasting, we will tour through a selection of Italian cheeses getting to know the regions of Italy they come from and the local wine culture.
Join us as we sample 7 Italian cheeses, pair them with 7 delightful wines, and experience the perfectly complimentary flavours of the cheese and the wine.
You'll also learn the principles of cheese and wine pairing so that you can get it right at home whenever you put a cheese board together.
There will be something for everyone at this special tasting - soft cheeses, hard cheeses, red and white wines. If you like cheese and wine, this is the night for you!
The line-up may vary (any good delicatessen seasonally adjusts its range), but is likely to include:
- Piave Vecchio with Pinot Grigio
- Robiola and Rose
- Taleggio and Lugana
- Castelmagno and Barolo
- Pecorino and Chianti
- Provolone and Montepulciano
- Gorgonzola and Vin Santo
Biscuits for cheese are included (If you need gluten-free simply email us to let us know when you book) as well as details of where to source the wines locally if you want to get your hands on the pairings you enjoy the most.
