Event Description
South Africa’s wine industry is one of the oldest in the New World: Jan van Riebeeck, the first governor of the Cape, planted a vineyard in 1655, and on 2 February 1659, the first wine was made from Cape grapes. Join us as we celebrate this incredible piece of winemaking history!
During this masterclass, you’ll taste wines from key regions such as Stellenbosch, Walker Bay, Swartland, Paarl and Constantia.
Expect to taste classic South African grape varieties such as Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc, all reflecting the country’s incredible diversity of climates and soils.
