Event Description
Join us as we bring together two standout Greek estates—KIR-YIANNI and DOMAINE SIGALAS—to explore three wonderfully different terroirs: the structured reds of Naoussa, the cool-climate freshness of Amyndeon, and the sun-baked, volcanic intensity of Santorini. At the heart of them both stands the groundbreaking KIR-YIANNI family, now proudly in its sixth generation.
KIR-YIANNI Estate
Founded in 1997 by visionary winemaker Yiannis Boutaris and now headed by Stellios Boutaris, Yiannis’ son and 5th generation winemaker. KIR-YIANNI has become a world benchmark of Xinomavro, Northern Greece’s noble red variety, through its renowned vineyards in Naoussa and Amyndeon. We’ll tasting their iconic Ramnista wine which highlights decades of research, expertise, and passion. Fascinatingly, they also grow Assyrtiko in the mountainous Amyndeon which we’ll compare to its Santorini cousin from Domain Sigalas. Always a pioneer, KIR-YIANNI is the first Greek winery to join IWCA paving the sustainable path from vine to glass.
DOMAINE SIGALAS Estate
DOMAINE SIGALAS is a global reference for Santorini Assyrtiko. Founded in 1991 by Paris Sigalas, the iconic estate—now part of the KIR-YIANNI family—has earned international acclaim for its distinctive wines. Rooted in Santorini’s volcanic terroir and centuries-old viticultural traditions, a new generation is shaping its future: oenologist Sara Iakovidou, viticulturist Stratos Guillaume Xyrafis, and Yiannis Boutaris, Stellios’ son and sixth generation in the wine business. Together, they honor the island’s precious heritage while advancing a sustainable and dynamic vision for Santorini’s world-renowned vineyards and crafting the world sought-after SIGALAS wines.
